5-night/6-day Kruger Park Family Resort Safari

Set on the banks of the Sabie River overlooking the famous Kruger National Park, this luxury 4-star hotel resort offers you all the ingredients for a perfect, fun-filled safari vacation with the whole family, with a flexible program and lots of free time.

When you're not busy watching wildlife from the viewing deck or enjoying a sumptuous meal in the boma (open air dining area), you can play tennis, mini-golf, volleyball or simply cool down in the refreshing swimming pool. With its beautiful gardens and raised wooden walkways, the resort has the feel of a luxury tree-house, and there is in fact a unique Tree House sleepout facility at the resort. Birdwatching is always very rewarding here, and of course the main attraction is the wildlife of the adjacent Kruger National Park, one of the greatest game reserves in Africa. With open vehicle game drives and bush walks departing right from the lodge, this is truly paradise in Africa for the nature lover! The hotel has a well-equipped children's playground and is a great choice for families with children.

Itinerary

The itinerary below is flexible and can be adjusted to suit your requirements.

Day 1:
The safari can depart from Johannesburg or from Nelspruit, a city close to the Kruger National Park. Daily flights can be booked from Johannesburg to Nelspruit, on a number of different airlines. You will be met at the airport upon arrival and transferred to the hotel resort, on the border of the Kruger National Park. Take the afternoon to settle in and explore your surroundings. Dinner will be announced by drumbeat.

Day 2:
Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Kruger National Park, when the game viewing is at its best. We return to the lodge for lunch and head out on another game drive in the afternoon. If your children are older, we can also stay out the whole day on a game drive if you prefer. The day is filled with the excitement of seeing Africa's wildlife in their natural habitat, from an open safari vehicle. For families with very young children, we normally use a luxury air-conditioned minibus. Whether it's lion, elephant, giraffe or the variety of birds and smaller animals that can be seen, we guarantee you a fascinating and satisfying safari experience in this vast African wilderness area. While looking for the big 5 and other wildlife, we stop at waterholes, view points and picnic sites where you can stretch your legs and enjoy some refreshments. The waterhole where the famous Battle at Kruger video was filmed, is not far away and well worth a visit.

Day 3:
Today is devoted to a guided tour of the spectacular Panorama Route, the most scenic part of the Lowveld. We visit God's Window and other breathtaking view points, Bourke's Luck potholes, the Blyde River Canyon, various magnificent waterfalls and more. We return to your safari resort whenever you feel like it, or when the children are starting to get tired. You get to set the pace and itinerary.

Spend the day at leisure to explore and enjoy the many facilities on offer at the resort, or perhaps book an extra game drive, day tour or one of the optional activities available in the area. You can book these with us in advance or wait until you get there and decide then.

Day 6:
After a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, it is time to pack up and be transferred back to Nelspruit airport, in time for your flight to your next destination. If you are travelling back to Johannesburg by road, the trip will take about 5 hours.

Optional extras:
Night drive on open safari vehicle in the Kruger National Park.
