Good afternoon,

I just returned from my Safari to Kruger last evening and I just couldn't wait to get to my hotel to email you and let you know how wonderful it was! It was simply one of the best experiences of my life, everything was absolutely perfect. First, I was quite impressed with Gudrun and her responses back to my emails and assistance with my travel agent to book the tour, quite timely and professional. Simon was simply brilliant. I can't imagine a better guide than him. Everything he did on the safari was perfect. He worked so hard to ensure each of us had a wonderful time. The food and accommodation were absolutely perfect, Simon's attention to detail in preparing the food and snacks was greatly appreciated. Secondly, he was so flexible and not rigid, he worked to accommodate the need of our group. Lastly, he never stopped trying to show us more game, teach us more, etc. He was simply the absolute best! We want to thank you so much for the absolutely fantastic time we had in South Africa. Willie was wonderful in the organisational side of the trip, suggesting and advising on the accomodation styles that would be best suited to us, a family travelling with 3 children under 10 years of age (and a little nervous of how it would all go). Metcourt Laurel Hotel was definately a great choice for our stay in Johannesberg with direct shuttle service to and from the airport and a large choice of restaurants (even an amusement arcade complete with a roller coaster) within the hotel complex which meant we didn't have to venture outdoors if we didn't want to. The real magic began however when we arrived at Kruger. Our five night stay at the Protea Hotel Kruger Gate was superb - a wonderful hotel with very friendly and efficient staff, great facilities and food and a fantastic location (watching the elephants and buffalo come down to the Sabie River in the evenings from the treehouses and bar was just amazing). The African tribal dancing on the Saturday evening at dinner was also a highlight.

Simon, what can we say......thank you so much for being such a wonderful guide and more. You were absolutely fantastic with both us and the kids, they especially loved all your magic tricks. Your love of Kruger, and your knowledge and enthusiasm ensured that we all had an incredible couple of days in the park that none of us will forget. We saw many more animals than we ever anticipated to (all big 5 on the 1st day) and even had the unforgettable experience of being able to watch a leopard eat his kill up a tree (what a great show-and-tell that one is for the kids!!!!). The panorama route day trip was also wonderful (such beautiful countryside), as was our trip to the elephant sanctuary (highlight being the "kiss" from Kitsu, the elephant), and the African tribal village (a yummy lunch and meeting the "chief", being the highlight there).

We absolutely loved every moment we had, and cannot wait to book another safari with Wild Wings again, but in the meantime we will be recommending you to anyone who wants to experience the trip of a lifetime.

Dear Wild Wings Safaris,

We have returned from safari and wanted to tell you that everything was absolutely great, and all of the arrangements ran perfect and right on time.

We have ZERO complaints about either lodge, food was terrific, game was incredible, and the service was immaculate, we particularly enjoyed the tent at Gomo Gomo (however the chalet at Arathusa was so amazing and fancy – 5 star – that it is hard to say which is better)!

Both lodges were fantastic and we really enjoyed chatting with each of our friendly transfer drivers back and forth as well, 2 of whom, the ladies, had also worked as game rangers (one made a special roadside stop for a photo of some game!). They provided a lot of local information and we are glad that we took the road transfers as it gave us a look at the environs around the reserves.

We didn’t have a single blip in any of the scheduled arrangements. (By the way we would highly recommend SAA’s economy class flights as well, for any future customers, but would advise to keep the domestic luggage limits in mind for carrying back gifts and souveneirs.) Our second week in Cape Town was terrific as well, but it is hard to compete with the safari portion for thrills. Thanks again for arranging our trip!

Just a bit of feedback for you about our safari, Abi and I don't normally do this but here goes:

Our safari was simply breathtaking and an incredible experience for both us urban dwellers. It really was the perfect start to our holiday.

Seeing the "big five" was something Abi and I didn't really think would happen, which it did within the first full day, so to see herds of buffalo, a rhino and hippo fight for territory, two lions, a jackle, flock of vultures, two lionesses and a lion cub all together was spell binding!

We'd also like to say how much we appreciated your excellent hospitality and knowledge, from helping Abi with her wild life photography, being eagle eyed in front of the vehicle (although I'm taking the credit for the long distance Lion spot!), allowing us to star and planet gaze through the telescope at night and preparing some excellent barbeques and brunches for us, we always felt that we were getting a far better experience than just a tour of the bush.

In summary Kruger was a once-in-a-lifetime experience made all the better for your passion and experience of the whole area, a trip we will never forget and we'd wholeheartedly recommend wild-wings to any of friends and family.

What a magical safari trip I had with your company! At the outset, our guide Simon was punctual, accommodating & attentive. The daily schedule was fully-packed from the early morning game drive to star-gazing at night. The game drives were of course the star attraction & although they had some structure, Simon still allowed for flexibility & took the time if particular animals were to be looked for. We were lucky enough to see most big wildlife & had some spectacular encounters. Between big game spotting, other aspects of the environment were pointed-out like flora, birds, insects, footprints, behaviour etc. thus providing an appreciation & respect of the animals' habitat as a whole. Simon's enthusiasm, expert knowledge, organisation & efficiency made the trip sensational, with his good looks, charm & cookery skills serving to complete the experience! Thanks to you all for the efficient organisation behind our recent holiday to South Africa. Your advice regarding the style and location of different game lodges in the Kruger was invaluable and you recommended to us exactly the type of accommodation that we would have chosen for ourselves. The tracker also excelled himself in being able to find almost any animal on request. Quite amazing to witness how the ranger and tracker worked together so well in this regard.

Better late than never! We just wanted to say, "Thank You," for a great Kruger Park safari. It has been four months since we returned from our safari and people are still asking us to tell them all about it. As a family, we are still talking about it at supper! It was truly a special event for our family. We would do it all over again and not change anything!

I am still impressed at how easy/turnkey the planning and booking of the safari went. Besides the actual safari, the thing that really made it "splendid" for me was the fact that you asked what we wanted to accomplish/see, how much time we had and what was our budget. I could not believe it when you quickly lined everything up (all the bells and whistles) and came in UNDER BUDGET! What a treat!

Simon was a great guide and our family appreciated his enthusiasm and crafting of the safari adventure, as well as playing in the pool with the kids while we sat in the shade and relaxed. He was also a mighty fine cook...something us Midwesterners take seriously! The DVD that he made for us was incredible and absolutely over-delivered on our expectations! The music is great and there are just so many great photos. It´s not very often that you have photos with every member of the family present in them because some one has to take the photo. Having Simon "document" our family adventure with all of us represented together in so many photos was so unexpected and worthwhile. Family and friends have asked to view it time and again. It´s a real treasure for our family.

You guys run a top-notch service at a great price. Thanks again for giving us memories of something so beautiful and unique!

Dear Onne,

I finally have a few minutes to write and thank you for putting together our "Trip of a Lifetime!". We had such a wonderful time in South Africa. Our boys said it was "the best vacation ever!". From the moment we stepped off the airplane in Johannesberg everything went wonderfully. As we landed at the airstrip near the Nkoro Bush Lodge and saw two elephants at the end of the runway, we knew it was going to be a very exciting adventure. Each and every game drive was filled with animal sightings. We were all happy to have several sightings of the big five as well as Cheetah, Giraffe, Mongoose (Mongi), Zebra, Wart Hogs ...and so many different birds.

Our lodge accomodations were also exceptional. The staff always treated us so nicely and the chef made every meal an experience. It was fun to eat around the boma each evening and be treated to South African song and dance. We all loved to see the animals come to the watering hole at the lodge in the afternoons.

One of our happiest memories Onne was meeting all of you. Wim was so great to allow Jim to use his big lens and help to make Michael feel like a real photographer. Gawie was so great to put up with all of our uniqueness and always very accomodating. You were so nice to Michael and Matthew. We talk very fondly of your riddles and our time together on the bush drives.

We have very recently begun another school year and hockey try outs are nearly done. Our memories of our South Aftrican Safari are still very fresh and we love to tell all our friends and family all about our trip and the fun we had. I have recommended Wild Wings Safaris to everyone who will listen.

I would like to report to you that my friends returned from their 'safari' to Elephant Hills and Akeru last week - and were delighted with both locations. Onne of the party took ill in the middle of the night at Elephant Hills, and was driven in the early hours of the morning to see a Doctor in Nelspruit. Not only did the camp manager drive him personally, but stayed with him through the ordeal and then drove him back to camp in the morning. Please convey my sincere thanks and appreciation to the gentleman concerned.

They however fell in love with Akeru - not only did they love the location and amenities, but the care and attention from the owners and management was something very special. They have already recommended the camp to several people overseas and have convinced me to visit soon as well. Please let the management know that their efforts are sure to be rewarded.
