Kuname River Lodge

Kuname River Lodge is an exclusive luxury safari lodge situated in the Karongwe Private Game Reserve, a 9000 hectare Big Five game reserve near the Kruger National Park. Karongwe is a beautiful wilderness area bordered by the majestic Drakensberg mountains to the West, and offers excellent game viewing.

Accommodation at Kuname is in five private, luxury chalets each with air-conditioning, en-suite bathroom, outdoor shower and luxury outdoor bath. Each chalet has a private deck with magnificent views over the surrounding bush. The premier suite is the perfect honeymoon destination and offers your own private, secluded garden leading off from the main bedroom, complete with outdoor shower and bath.

Game drives at Kuname River Lodge are conducted on open land rovers by professional guides who are skilled at providing a complete and fascinating African bush experience. The wildlife here is abundant and includes the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino) as well as cheetah, hippo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, various antelope species and smaller mammals. The area is also known for its prolific birdlife. Guided bush walks bring you up close with some of the lesser-known secrets of the bush.
	Kuname River Lodge is an affordable alternative to the lodges in the greater Kruger National Park, offering similar game viewing and beautiful surroundings, albeit on a smaller scale. The style of the lodge is small and intimate, where you can experience personalized luxury, great food and great service at a very reasonable cost.

Our rates are all-inclusive. There are no hidden fees or unexpected costs not mentioned below. The following is INCLUDED:

Please note the following:

• Rates are quoted per person sharing per night.
• Please ask about single occupancy rates if required.
• Rates are quoted in ZAR (South African Rands).

The following is excluded

• Flights / transfers to and from the lodge (see below).
• Karongwe Game Reserve gate fee.
• All drinks.
• Telephone calls, laundry and other personal expenses.
• Curio shop purchases.
• Gratuities (optional).

Children

• Children are welcome at Kuname, subject to certain conditions. Please ask us about rates and conditions for children.

Getting to the lodge

• You can book a scheduled flight from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit or Phalaborwa Airport.
• From the airport we can arrange a road transfer to the lodge.
• Road transfers from Johannesburg can also be arranged. This trip takes less than 5 hours.
• You can drive yourself to the lodge. We offer car rental at excellent rates, with unlimited mileage and super insurance cover with no excess.
