Ngala Game Lodge

Ngala Game Lodge is situated in the Timbavati Game Reserve, and shares an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park. Ngala is most famous as a walking safari destination, and is probably one of the best destinations for doing a luxury walking safari in the Kruger Park.
	Ngala offers a choice of game drives or walking safaris, and the walks are not long strenuous hikes with a backpack. Walking through the bush is a wonderful way to explore the secrets of the wild up close, but keep in mind that you are likely to see less game compared to doing a game drive on a land rover. This is because animals generally run away from human beings on foot.

Ngala Safari Lodge and Ngala Tented Camp both offer superb en-suite accommodation, great food and exciting game drives and bush walks. At Ngala Safari Lodge, the 20 thatched cottages are shaded by Mopane trees and overlook the riverine bush below. All feature air conditioning, intimate verandahs and green slate en suite baths and showers.
Ngala Tented Camp provides a more intimate safari experience. Set on the banks of the great seasonal Timbavati River, six luxurious tented suites feature en suite bathrooms with spacious baths and outdoor showers. A lap pool merges with the contours of the riverbank – great for laid-back game viewing

• Ngala is not suitable for children under 12 years old.

Getting to the lodge

• You can book a scheduled flight from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit Airport.
• From the airport we can arrange a road transfer to the lodge. The trip takes just over an hour.
• Road transfers from Johannesburg can also be arranged. This trip takes about 6 hours.
• We can also book you a direct chartered flight from Johannesburg to the lodge's airstrip.
• You can drive yourself to the lodge. We offer car rental at excellent rates, with unlimited mileage and super insurance cover with no excess.
