Timbavati Game ReserveWhat is the Timbavati? The Timbavati Game Reserve is a collection of private game farms and reserves with no fences between them, that share an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park. It lies further North than the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. The game lodges in the Timabavati (as in the Sabi Sands) are privately owned and managed, and offer an all-inclusive safari experience which includes all meals, game drives on open land rovers, and guided bush walks. The Timbavati is most famous for the occasional sightings of the rare white lion, which can still be spotted in this area from time to time. Apart from lions, the area is home to all the same wildlife as you can find in the rest of the Kruger Park, including leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, hippo, cheetah, wild dog, hyena and a large variety of antelopes. There are a number of excellent game lodges in the Timbavati that we can recommend, including Motswari Game Lodge, Gomo Gomo Game Lodge, Kambaku Safari Lodge, Ngala Game Reserve, and quite a few others. The lodge we recommend will depend on your interests and your budget. Certain lodges are great for families with children, others are better for honeymoon couples, and so on. We have personally visited each lodge we use and will make honest recommendations based on what we know about the lodges. If you book with us, you will normally pay less than if you book directly with the lodge, and you will be ensured of our highest level of service and personal attention. |
